Accommodations in the school setting for CF requires a lot of teaching from the school nurse on the reasons behind the accommodations.  Gain confidence in your knowledge of CF by attending this webinar.

Danielle Cantin, MSN, APRN, FNP-C will present information about the pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis, current treatments, and how important the communication between school nurses and CF providers is to keep these students healthy and in school.

***  NHSNA members may add other School Nurses in the district at a discounted price.  Encourage your administration to send you all!

You may submit questions ahead of time in your registration.

Danielle Cantin, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a Nurse Practitioner at Dartmouth Health Children’s.  After receiving her BSN from Saint Anselm College in 2007,  she fell in love with taking care of children with chronic illness including those with cancer and cystic fibrosis.   She worked on the inpatient pediatric unit at Dartmouth and earned the title Nurse of the Year by the NH Nurse’s Association in 2010.   In 2012, she completed her MSN from the University of New Hampshire and began her APRN journey in primary care at Concord Pediatrics in Concord, NH.   She transitioned to specialty care and joined Pediatric Gastroenterology at Dartmouth Health Children’s in 2019,  eventually focusing on children with chronic GI conditions, namely inflammatory bowel disease.  She joined the Cystic Fibrosis team in 2021 to manage the GI manifestations in CF.   In 2023 she applied for and was awarded a grant through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with the goal of becoming a comprehensive CF Provider,  and independently manage both GI and Pulmonary manifestations.   She will complete her fellowship in September of 2025,  and is currently beginning a quality improvement project to assist school nurses in the care of NH CF patients.   She presented a case study at the National Cystic Fibrosis Conference in 2024.   One of her greatest joys is working with the Patient and Family Advisory Committee on ‘Move-a-Palooza’,  a one month challenge to get patients with CF and their families moving through winter months while simultaneously becoming more educated about their disease.   Danielle lives in Concord NH with her husband and 2 children ages 9 and 11.
