Why you should come:
School nurses often find themselves working independently, sometimes serving as the only nurse in their school or even their district. This unique aspect of the profession can make it challenging to connect with peers and discuss shared concerns. Recognizing this, our organization is initiating a series of regional meetings designed specifically for school nurses.

Opportunities for Connection

These regional meetings offer school nurses the chance to meet others in their area who understand the specific challenges of the role. By coming together, participants can build relationships with colleagues, share experiences, and discuss the local issues that matter most to them. These meetings will foster a sense of camaraderie, allowing nurses to reconnect with the collaborative spirit often found in other areas of nursing.

Collaboration with Public Health Leaders

Understanding that school health is an integral part of public health, these gatherings will also connect school nurses with regional public health leaders. This collaboration supports open dialogue about pressing topics such as communicable disease management, mental health initiatives, and emergency preparedness. By engaging with these leaders, nurses can access valuable resources and advocacy opportunities.

Professional Growth and Impact

The regional meetings are more than just networking events; they are a platform for exchanging strategies to improve student wellness and learning from public health experts, their fellow nurses, and your association. School nurses can seek guidance, gain new ideas, and find support for their professional development. Most importantly, every participant’s voice is vital in shaping the future of school health within their region, helping to promote healthier schools and communities.
